I interviewed for another role yesterday at the company I’ve been made redundant from. It’s just been posted on LinkedIn! Can I assume I didn’t get it?!!

How long ago?

RethinkingLife · 09/11/2023 17:22

No. They may be filling a statutory requirement to advertise that post. Although, assuming you're in the appropriate size of organisation, an internal post should be offered to somebody who is at risk of redundancy as long as they have an appropriate skillset.

However, have you already been made redundant? The 12 week consultation period has passed and it's happened?

@Differencesclear I interviewed yesterday and it’s been posted today (an hour ago)

@RethinkingLife yep all processes done, been at risk, confirmed redundancy, working out notice period (nearly finished). This just popped up in a different department and I thought I’d try it (slightly panicking about being out of work)

Thanks to you both for your responses!

Also I was told yesterday I’d hear in the next 2 weeks.

That's terrible.

I'd screenshot the ad and ask them.

Sometimes companies post jobs to test the market, see if anyone (cheaper)is out there.

What statutory requirement?
