How to negotiate salary?

Hi all,

So I've just had a job offer (woo hoo!)

When the job was advertised there wasn't a number of hours on there (just said full time)

They asked me what salary I was looking for, and I said a minimum of "X"

They've offered me that salary, but it turns out the role is 40 hours a week (9 till 6), not 35 (9 till 5)

I should have checked before saying a salary, but didn't think to.
All other jobs I've looked at recently have been 9 to 5.

So actually that salary is too low for that many hours.

I'd like to try and negotiate it up (or the hours down). How's the best way (professional) to word that?

Thanks

I would simply say this was your suggestion for a 35h week, now that it is 40, you’d like the annual salary to increase by xx
