Help with pay increase

So I've had an email to say that after our performance reviews we will be receiving a pay increase.
I've emailed to ask what mine will be, to be told I am top of my pay grade already so I won't be having one. Will I be forever on that pay grade and never have a pay rise??

Possibly, sometimes they do increase the pay bands but often they remain unchanged. What you could try asking for is a non-consolidated performance bonus. This is often non-pensionable and doesn’t change your pay rate but it’s better than nothing.

You could point out that the reward strategy should attract, retain and motivate employees. The lack of any performance award is a de-motivator and (only if you are secure in your job) unlikely to retain employees in the long term.
