Violence at work

Any advice would be great please, my DH was hit at work last year by his narcissistic boss and another colleague has also been hit. Today the boss had a disciplinary hearing and has got away with it. Is this right? Surely there can’t be physical violence in the workplace without any repercussions?

Your DH could lodge a grievance

Jimbobwimbob · 26/10/2023 15:27

This had been done which is why there was the hearing today

Report to the police? It’s assault!

Violence in the workplace is not right, but what does "got away with it" mean?

Hipnotised · 27/10/2023 09:07

He can appeal the grievance but if it's his word v theirs the outcome won't change.

Some people's actions are outrageous.

To be fair, we do not know that he "got away with it". Without clarification as to what that means, it may be that the OP expected him to be dismissed, and that is not what happened. The OP and her husband are not entitled to be told what the outcome of a discipinary is. He could have had a warning or a final warning.

Not that I am excusing violence in any circumstances, but we really don't know what happened her in any shape or form.
