Is this ok? I am not sure

Please I'm looking for points of view on this situation. I have recently changed teams in my workplace and I've noticed that one member of the team works from home a lot more than the others (this is fine, it's our choice to do what we wish as long as the work is done). She has a 2 year old dd who stays at home and is always there on calls and the person does not hide this or pretend that she's not also supervising her child whilst she's working. She's completely honest about it. But it feels weird to me. Am I wrong. Is this ok?

Unless you are the team manager, or this is directly affecting your ability to do your job, you should stay out of this. It may be that she has agreed this arrangement with her manager for personal reasons.

Thanks. I wouldn't bring it up for this exact reason - that I don't know the full picture, but just found it unusual

Of course it's not OK, but if it's not hidden and the employer is happy with it, I'd leave them to it.

Where I work, it would only happen in an emergency situation/as an exception. Of course, loads of people might covertly be looking after their DC but keeping them off camera 😃

I don't think it's ok, but your employer does. Unless you manage her performance, or it's impacting yours, stay out of it.

This isn't OK in my place of work and frankly irritates me when I hear of it. Exactly the sort of thing that gives wfh a bad name.

Having thought about this a bit more I'm fairly sure that the business itself wouldn't be ok with it, from my experience of other departments, but the team manager clearly is.
