Hi,
I am currently on my meternity leave and I've sent my application form change my full time to 3 days a week yesterday and today I've already got anemail asking if Friday morning will suit me to meet to discuss it. I would like to prepare myself as much as I only can to this conversation as I am not really creative person and I have to have some of the answers ready and the other thing English is not my first language and really haven't used it much for a almost a year while sitting in a house with my baby so I am afraid with my baby brain I will be lack of some words 😅😅😅
If anyone had this meeting before would you tell me what kind of questions I can expect?
I've had informal chat with my manager before applying and he said he is OK with my part time work but it's HR decision.
Thank you in advance 🙂🙂

It's a discussion to make sure they understand your request and reasons for it. Make a few bullet points of how this will be a positive change for you and help you continue working for the company for example it will make for a more diverse, effective team and retain good employees if they can accommodate different working patterns and will mean less sick leave needed for you than if you had to balance a child starting nursery with full time work. Have a think through how it will affect the team/ work and how they could adapt things to cover any impacts of you going part time for example you could write a short handover each week/ you could discuss and plan your workload with your manager/ you could plan important meetings for when you will be in. The working families website has some good information on it. The law is due to change next year to make it easier to ask for flexible working too. Good luck with your request.

Thank you for some suggestions. I will check this website for sure for some ideas. My part time would be perfect for them as when I was going on my maternity leave one girl came back full time and she is doing my work and the other one who was part time left so I could replace her. But I am not really sure if I should mention about this. I am just afraid that if they turn down my application and I will be back full time they my could think there is not enough work for me and move me to different place.
