Calculating holiday when resigning

I am full of cold and my brain doesn't seem to be working properly.

If I get 22 days holiday per year + Bank holidays
My holiday runs from 01/01 > 31/12 yearly.

I have used 15 days holiday so far this year.

My last day will be the 22nd December. So how many days holiday will be entitled too prior to my last day? Will it just be 7? Or 6.?? - ?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a dumb question.

There were 9 bank holidays this year, so 31 days

Last day 22 Dec - 356/365 days = 30.25 days owed in the year

You have used 15 days. Leaves 15.25

Have you also taken the bank holidays on top of the 15 days? If so, then you have taken 7 - this would leave 8.25 days

I guess if work were being really picky they could say 25/26 December have not been accrued yet, so this would leave 6.25 days

You really need to ask your HR / Payroll department how it will be calculated

Forget the bank holidays. Divide the entitlement by 12 (1.83 per month). Usually companies only pay you for full months worked, so in your case this would be 11 x 1.83 so that would be 20 due (5 left) but of course HR will calculate.

If you work full time / 5 even days it'll still be 22 days with rounding up (and they have to round up). Ignore the Bank Holidays.

If you do anything other than full time / 5 even days then it gets more complicated Smile

Does your company have a policy? At my work leaving in December would mean you get the full years allowance, leaving in November you'd lose two days. As a general policy we round up in the employees favour but not every company would do that.
