Should I stay or should I go?

I've just been headhunted for a new job.

I'm really happy in my current job nut recently went for an interview for a senior position in the same organisation and didn't get it.

The job I've been headhunted for would be for the same money but a more senior position. So although I wouldn't be moving up financially I would move up in seniority.

Is it better to stay where I am?

Or go for the other role? The new role would give me a more senior title.

So they want your experience, and for you to have extra responsibility and stress, but don’t want to pay senior level salary?

I'd be wary of being head hunted (poor internal promotion opportunities?) and unimpressed they won't give you a raise. Are you overpaid where you are?!

Can you find out more about the company culture, workload, turnover, responsibilities, attitude to WFH etc?

If you're very career focused and don't have anything more to gain where you are then maybe?

If you’re happy in your current role, surely this is the perfect opportunity to negotiate on the potential new job’s salary? Set out your expectations (add more so you can meet part-way) and then if they won’t offer more, you just say “no thanks” and keep the job you know you like?
