Job role changing - more responsibility - how to ask for payrise

Hi all. I have been FT employed by a company for five years now. I look after a certain segment and have a couple of people in my team supporting. There are/were three other segments too with similar set up. One looking after identical things to me but in a different location and the two others slightly differing segments. Not those two will be comined into one role whilst giving up those segments in my area/location. I will be landed with those segments in my area too, plus my original segment. The other persons job (whose job is like mine) will stay as before. So, my job responsibilites will grow significantly (as I will cover what two others do) and experience tells me that whatever, if any, increase will be minor. Now, I am rubbish with asking for more money but this time I do not want to shoot myself in the foot and accept the responsibilities but not get rewarded for it. Would anyone have some pointers for how I should structure my 'argument' for a payrise?
