Is anyone here familiar with Environment Agency recruitment?

I applied for a job at the Environment Agency a few weeks ago, the job advert said interviews would be held w/c 11th Sept, but I haven't had any kind of rejection or reply other than the acknowledgement of my application. Should I expect to hear anything or just assume I was not successful in getting an interview? I wasn't really expecting to be asked to interview as I realised afterwards that the examples I gave for the competency questions were probably too broad, but I keep logging into the portal each day in the vain hope that they are just having delays in the process! If anyone could shed any light and help me out of this limbo I would appreciate it! Thanks

Was it via CSJobs? If so you should be able to see the status online. Also, the advert should give you a contact. I bet they are probably behind with sifting.

No it was through the EA website, but I can log in on that to see the status, it just has the acknowledgement message which says check back here for updates! I've only ever applied for private sector jobs before, where by now I would just assume I was unsuccessful. There is a contact email so yes I should just ask them! Thanks

You won't be alone and there'll be other people messaging. Good luck!

Thank you! Fingers crossed
