I've worked with children for a long time. Mainly in schools. I've always felt like I've got imposter syndrome. Anyway, I really dislike my job. The responsibility for the pay is such a big divide. I need to do something else but no idea what. I've been applying for admin jobs but getting no where.

Hi, I’m surprised you didn’t get more responses! I’m in your situation except I enjoy my job but would like more money. I just don’t know what else I’d go into and have lost a lot of confidence. Did you find anything? X

@cazb78 no, I'm still there and still miserable! Don't know what else to do.

The problem with me is I’ve become comfortable - 3 days a week, school
holidays, just up the road, lovely people. It’s hard to find a thing else that appeals really! Although I admit if my husband didn’t earn the most out of us both I’d have to find a better job. Keep looking, maybe something will come up that sparks your interest and don’t be so hard on yourself. We can be our own worst enemy sometimes x

@cazb78 I'm very similar. Local
School, holidays and part time. Don't think I'd get it that good again.

I did TA and LSA in primary and secondary and loved it, but the pay was not enough to live on even as an 'extra' job as dh's salary covers most of the big bills.

I then got a job doing admin in another secondary school and then got a promotion. The pay is a lot better than TA / LSA and I've been able to reduce my hours recently too, so now get part time, term time only and a reasonable salary (still not loads but it's good for part time TTO).

I will have to eventually find something properly full time when the kids are older, but this is great for now. It is a stressful job though, but that's schools! Always stressful and a lot of responsibility

Did you have any previous admin/office experience?
