How much time would you need a month to

Create a monthly newsletter
Put out three posts a week on Linkedin
A couple of posts a month on facebook
Write one press release a month
Do a bit of design work here and there such as creating posters and external adverts.

Also how much would you charge for this?

Impossible to tell without knowing how much research would be necessary for the newsletter and posts. Would you, for example, be creating a 10 page brief of what should be included, or would you be expecting the marketer to read through a week/month's worth of emails and minutes to pick out important items which must be included? Very different scenarios!

Have sent a DM, OP.

There’s about three different jobs here. A social media manager would be responsible for creating social posts and possibly writing the newsletter depending on their writing experience and the content of the letter. The design work is entirely separate for a designer rather than a marketing role.

@writergaldem I didnt recieve your message for some reason.

@frangipani13 the design work is very basic that I can do on canva.

@weirdoboelady it would take a little bit of research for newsletters and social media posts but not a huge amount and the information can be found quickly

This is all a bit vague, as others have said. The design work is a completely different job, but as an outside guess, I’d probably bill between £900 and £1,200 a month for the first four things.

So something like 15 social media posts a month? A newsletter (can you cannibalise newsletter content for the socials?) for which you'd need to do some research, and a press release which I assume you'd be briefed on (and again, that you would then use as a base for some of the social media posts?)

Plus the design work.

I'd be thinking of it as a newsletter and a press release, with the socials as extras linked to it.

The fee would be based on absolute time to do the work but also some additional time to take into account research, idea generation etc - it doesn't just happen in a vacuum. So if you think it will take 5 hours of sitting at the desk, consider how much additional time is spent thinking/reading/brainstorming etc.

A press release with a decent briefing from the client should take between 2-4 hours. Let's say 4. Newsletter is a bit "how long is a piece of string" but I edit a newsletter for a client by editing content - usually 5-6 pieces - then writing blurbs for the actual email. This usually takes me about 4 hours - although I'm very efficient. If I had to write the content, it would be much longer. Let's say for the newsletter it's the equivalent of 2 blog-equivalent pieces of content, with some additional blurb - I'd go for about 2 days work. Obviously, a longer/more detailed newsletter would be more.

Add at least a day for the socials.

And whatever time for the design work - I'm not clear on that.

Then x your daily rate and it's done.
