Hi

In a dilema but not quite right for AIBU.

I am meant to start a 3-month temporary wfh job which is imminent. (One where you use your own equipment and I've my own doubts when setting up the first of their systems on my laptop, it kind of got to the point I hope it wouldn't load and then being reminded there probably is no IT support if things go wrong) plus our checking/taster session before start date got cancelled so its thrown me slightly.

In the meanwhile since waiting to start, a ex employer of a few years ago has progressed me to a second interview stage in person, doing a data entry test and then sitting in front of a panel interview for an 18 month fixed term contract. The role I'm going for is slightly different to the one I held back in the day at the company, but stupidly I'm letting nerves get the better of me. Also I haven't used the I use to work here (5 years ago they still show on my CV and it didn't come up in interview stage 1) but guess I'll have to prepare for it in the next stage.

I suppose I could start the 3 month job as I have a week inbetween interviewing for the 18 month FTC.

Sorry for my ramblings.

Hi again,

Thank you for responding, fortunately after the first month we do move to 1 week notice which really surprised me given the tenature of the role but it does make the company one of the best rated when it's use your own equipment, along with guarenteed hours for the duration of the campaign.

I've started now and got a better impression with the 3-m job then I expected, plus in my mind before starting I'd worked out due to weekly pay I could put a bit away each week to cushion knowing the employment end date. I think I'm really going to have to think heavilly about the 18-month one.

A few of the agencies were against FTC's but to be honest I'm not in a great position for much else at the moment. (my own fault)
