I've applied for 2 jobs and thought I'd see which one I got, and if I got both, decide on which one would suit. I've just been for an interview and they made me sign a disclaimer saying I would withdraw any other application. Can they do this?

What? That’s madness. Did you sign it?

Haddawanman · 11/09/2023 14:20

Are they within your current organisation? Or the same organisation?

I can't see how that would stand up in court if it ever got that far. Sounds a bit odd.

Do they know you've gone for two?

cocksstrideintheevening · 11/09/2023 14:21

Don't sign it!

Willmafrockfit · 11/09/2023 14:21

did you sign it?

spilltheteapot · 11/09/2023 14:21

No of course they can’t. Even if you are offered their job I wouldn’t take it. Sounds like the beginning of a job where your life isn’t your own.

bellalou1234 · 11/09/2023 14:23

Nhs different trusts. I signed it I'm an idiot. I forced myself to interview after a horrific nightshift. I'm an idiot

Just do the other interview, how will they even know?

Rounee · 11/09/2023 14:26

I'm sure that can't be legal

TheFlis12345 · 11/09/2023 14:36

I assumed this was going to be some small business owned my a crackpot on a power trip, not the NHS! Are you in a union? I would be contacting them for guidance.

bellalou1234 · 11/09/2023 15:45

I will ask my current union and seek advice
