Asking job centre for help? How are they?

Ive done my CV, applied, got quite far on a few applications.

I do have a disability so ive thought getting outside job centre advice could be beneficial?

Im worried though they will assume my disability makes me incapable and push me into jobs without progression?

Anyone been through job centre with disability? Do you think they can help?

@Hopinghonestly I would first advise you to look at the National Careers Service as there is useful information about identifying skills and potential careers.https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/

JobCentre Employees should be well versed in helping you find the right job. They may also be able to advise on support via Access to Work and how to approach any reasonable adjustments.

I'm telling youtnhis as straight as I can.

The Job Centre are NOT there to help you find gainful employment. They are there to administer Sanctions and UC claims. That's it.
They are, for the most part, a bunch of fucking scum sucking arsehole jobsworths that don't give a fuck about you or your situation. They're box ticking twats that ignore everything you say and judge you on their preconceptions.

IF you can possibly avoid going there, avoid it like it's a house of death and agony.

IF you've no choice but to go, record the conversations you have so you have proof of what was and wasn't said.

www.gov.uk
Find a job
Enter location eg town or county

I also recommend looking directly at your local websites for
NHS Trust
Civil service
Supermarkets/shops
Big companies in your area
Sports centres
Transport

Are you on LinkedIn ?

Have you registered with any agencies ?

Do you have anyone that you know that can recommend a friend & introduce you into their work place ?

Goodluck

This. As evidenced by the closure of the Remploy workshops for the disabled. Those made redundant were directed to their local job centres and told that there would be special arrangement available for them to find alternative work. There was nothing beyond the bog standard facilities and most of those employees are still unemployed. Unless you’re claiming benefits and forced to attend the jobcentre as part of the claimant agreement I’d avoid them like the plague.
