Hi, I am going to start an apprenticeship through work soon, does anyone know if the English grade C is still a requirement if you did not achieve it and left school over 20 years ago ?

Depends on the apprenticeship level. Some have to pass it. Some may count working towards it. Hang on - there’s info somewhere… I work in an FE college and teach apprentices English but we offer Functional Skills English. Level 2 is the equivalent of a C.

Info here

Your age is irrelevant here. If you don’t have it you will need to do it in some form. Functional Skills is ace! Do it ❤️

Apprenticeship funding rules

The rules employers and training providers must follow to get funding for training and assessing apprentices in England.
