Inappropriate comments by supervisor

Just posting for opinions.

a supervisor (male) calls a female member of the team masculine behind their back to another member of the team (male) The context is around attractiveness and if they (the supervisor) thinks they are. The answer is no because they are boyish/masculine looking.

is this ok? Female has now found out and is upset.

It's not the comment that's inappropriate. It's the discussing the sexiness or otherwise of a team member. The details are irrelevant.

No it's bang out of order. What an arse. No supervisor should be discussing their team members attractiveness 🙄

Thanks for responding. My feelings also! Getting shut down over it because the female worker has described herself as boyish before to others so - “what’s the big deal” the point for me is discussing physical appearance of team members when you’re a supervisor, clearly in an appraising way.
