Hello - calling any quant researchers
Looking to get into social/market research.
Have MSc in Social Research Methods, a PhD using quantitative analysis (e.g. multivariate regression; fractional logit) plus experimental and questionnaire design, etc. Also worked in academia for a few years doing applied quantitative research in a medical setting.
Have worked a little in social/market research, but mostly helping facilitate focus groups and doing survey/qualitative interviewing.... these have been ad-hoc jobs over the years.
So I have done quant analysis in academia only.
What if I now want to brand myself as someone who can do quantitative research for a social/market research agency?
What types of quant analysis are needed there? Do they just want (in general) basic stuff like chi-square analysis and ANOVA? Or much more complex stuff?
Also, I've experience in the past of using SPSS and Stata... but am guessing that they'd be quite pleased if you also knew R.... correct?
Just wanting to make the transition properly and brand myself correctly.
Plus brush up certain skills.
Thanks!
