Till down money

Have name changed for this. I work in retail and on a till for 80% of the time, for the past year. There have been no problems up until 2 months ago, when my till was down by £25. Last week it was down by £58 one day. The problem is I don't know and can't explain how this happened. The manager was ok about it but I am worried they think I am suddenly incompetent or stealing 😟 does anyone know what usually happens now, I am feeling really anxious, thanks

Have you all worked there the same length of time, just I note the till overall has been 80% okay could be a new start who is finding it difficult? Or not to want to suggest stealing, someone else who's circumstances have changed. Also worth noting managers may swap about who is on what till/shift during the day to try and narrow it down. I wouldn't worry of you've done nothing wrong. I used to work in a cash office and when a till came back wrong the money sometimes was found in the safe or another till and even I'd panic because you just feel guilt when there's no need to.
