Added to the talent pool?

I interviewed for a post however was unsuccessful. They provided me with some really good feedback which I appreciate so know areas to develop which is useful because its a role I would like and with my current family situation would be much better for the DC and DH. When they contacted me with the outcome they asked if I would like to be added to the talent pool so if a post comes up in the next 6months I won't need to reapply. I've said yes but I've no idea what this means! Anyone have any ideas?

It means they will keep your details on file and contact you should a position come up in the future. If you were rubbish, they wouldn't have asked so it sounds like you just missed out!

I would guess that if a similar post comes up, they will look at your application and let you know if you made it through to interview stage.

It means that if a role comes up they would consider you for that post without you having to formally apply. I would contact them and ask would they notify you if a position became available so that you could update them with any additional training or experience.

Ah thank you that makes sense. I already work for the company it's just a different role. I might see if there's any shadowing opportunities to try gain a bit more experience. Hopefully better luck next time
