Careers advice self help?

I’ve hit the typical middle age career change stage of life … years of caring for people mean I have built a flexible and sustainable part time freelance career, but I’m in my mid 40s and i am left wondering … what if?

I’m currently in a dying industry (being decimated by brexit/ AI/ global recession). I used to love it but I’ve lost that passion and although it’s been good to me, now it just feels like a low paid, purposeless option.

I am thinking of going to a careers coach but actually I prefer reading and thinking on my own than with other people. I would love to take my time via a series of books or exercises to work through to help think about the next steps. Has anyone used anything similar/ do you have any recommendations?
