Shortlisting wait times

I’m looking for a new job and the wait times on some roles are so long!

One job I applied for, I didn’t hear anything for 6 weeks, so filed it under ‘not shortlisted’ and then a week later was invited for interview (which was awful but that’s another story!)

My ‘favourite’ job I applied for at the beginning of August and it closed the next day. We’re at two weeks now and I am checking my emails every chance I can get.

I applied for a job in June and it’s still ‘active and taking applications’ on their career portal. I’ve filed this under ‘not shortlisted’ as well.

I have got an interview next week and one in September but my mind is on the favourite which isn’t a good mindset when going into interviews!

I’m not really sure there is a point to this thread. Just a moan that shortlisting takes aaaaagggggeeeesssss.

It's terrible, isn't it? No surprise it can take a year or more to change jobs if 90% of the time you have to wait

I find it excruciating too. I was offered an interview recently after only waiting a week and I was incredibly surprised. My current wait between application and interview is around six weeks. Fingers crossed for both of us!
