Healthcare worker here, can anyone advise which is the best Union to belong to?

It depends, RCN is a win for nurses, lots of others join Unison. I'd go with whatever offers the best cover in your place of work.

Unite has a massive healthcare presence.

Unison is big healthcare union.
Or RCN

It makes sense, if there is more than one union to see how many colleagues are in a particular one. Strength in numbers (and more likely to be a local rep).

Whichever one has a union rep at your place of work.

Whichever union has bargaining rights for the area of work that you do at that employer.

How would I find out if we have a local rep?

can you talk to your colleagues to find out what union they are in? If there are any communal areas, is there a union noticeboard?

Do you work in a hospital?
There's often posters up in changing rooms and diningroom, or staff room noticeboards with Union contact details

I will ask colleagues. Never ever hear about Union representation from anyone or see it anywhere. I go into the office regularly and have never seen a flyer/poster or any info re a union..
