April 06 my DH had an accident at work, it ended up with him having a herniated disk in his cervical spine (neck)and a broken shoulder.... and resulted in 6 months off work (his job is heavy lifting) and 6 months on a 'phased return' on Light Duties.
We are suing them for loss of earnings as it was the fault of his employer.
Over the last two years he's had 2 MRI scans, physiotherapy, cortezone injections and now been told he needs keyhole surgery to investigate his shoulder... they think he needs a bone shave and the muscle reseating.
He went back to work Full Time and on Full Duties in May last year and did his job with no problems or pain... then in November needed the 2nd MRI scan, which involved having Dye injected into the joint.
He asked for a couple of days off because it was going to bruise and leave him stiff... so they put him back on Light Duties.
He's still on light duties, despite his Hospital Specialist saying he's fully fit to do his job. His works doctor however refuses to clear him for Full Duties and has now written "capability issues" on his record.
My DH wants to go back to work, his job need him to on full duties.. its just ridiculous, this Works Doctor has never even examined him.. but they won't clear him back for work until they've had a meeting with HR.
ARGH.
