Hi all, I'll try to be as brief as I can. So last year I was very ill with my mental health and as a result lost my hairdressing business then in February my partner ended our relationship. An old male school friend popped up on Facebook as soon as he heard I was single and said I could work Saturdays at his salon. Since then he's been constantly WhatsApp me with mild advances even tho I've explained that I'm not interested. Well fast forward 6 months and he's still pestering me and sent me message with vulgar emoji that he's now deleted because I told I want happy with the content. I've to be friendly so that is my loss my job as I know that he only employed me to try his luck. Anyway since I told me off he's blanked me and Tuesday when I took my son football he appeared jogging past acting surprised I was there when I've talked about my son trading there for the last 6 months and even commented that it not far from where he lives. I really think he will sack me this Saturday. Ive got no contract although he said I'm on the payroll. I don't even know my rights as all the years I ran my business I always looked after my staff well and professionally. Can some one help give advice please. Thanks for reading

The texting and emoji are probably harassment, but the football thing is you being weird. I acted surprised when a pre arranged appointment arrived here this morning, simply because he was a bit early and I'd forgotten he was coming.

If I saw someone I knew when I was out running, it would be a surprise because I wasn't expecting to see them in that time and place.

You don't have employment rights unless you've been there 2 years (regardless of contract) and an employer can dismiss you for any or no reason, unless there is discrimination, which there may be here, but I doubt you would win a case.

I don't understand why the football thing makes you think you're about to be sacked though?

Thanks for reply and the info. I think I'll get sacked because I told him off for sending me a WhatsApp message with a vulgar emoji, it's something that's not on my phone it was a male character that was naked swinging his Willy about. After I told him off he got offended with me

As it's only one day a week I'd be looking elsewhere for a job. Good luck.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even waste my time worrying about rights, leave and find something else.
