Colleague making errors

A woman at work is doing a new role. She did a similar role before but is creating more work through errors. I have found some faults and have had to amend or cancel them on the system as I have found these when I have had to action the 2nd part.

It is not my job to be doing her work. She knows how to do it and I even showed her properly as she didn't know how to do it and did some training notes which she chose to ignore and still makes the errors. She even said she misses parts of a process out and I said well the rest of us don't when we have done the task. She just likes to cut corners.

I have told her manager as I used to work with her as it is quite clearly a training issue. I said I am not trying to get her in trouble but advised the process is not being followed correctly. The manager said she will speak to her. I feel drained as my colleague is an energy vampire and will be annoyed I have reported her but it's not my job to amend her faults or tell her about her errors when I have already shown her properly.

It is sad some people have no pride in their work.

What would happen if you don’t amend them for her? By amending are you masking the errors so her manager isn’t seeing the issues?
understandably standing back knowing errors are being made is hard - if you are unable to leave it could you collate the evidence of the errors and where you’ve corrected it and pass this to her manager? Highlight the impact it’s having on your workload.

sounds like she needs to be performance managed.

You are right. I should have left the errors so she could have seen them. The system will show what have amended but unfortunately for some parts it won't. I raised it as it is either lack of training or laziness. I know she will be annoyed she has been reported but she should not have messed up in the first place.
