Hi guys,

so I have just got an offer from a job I applied for and I am going through pre employment checks. I wanted to ask how do I apply for 30 hours childcare my toddler starts in sept and I would like to get these hours during this term. I am so confused as how to apply as this is my first baby.

thank you

https://www.gov.uk/sign-in-childcare-account

When you click on sign in it will prompt you to use your .gov sign in info or will talk you through setting this up if you haven't got one. Once logged in it takes you through the process. Once sorted you have to confirm that nothing has changed every 3 months but they send email reminders.

Sign in to your childcare account

If you're a parent registered for Tax-Free Childcare or 30 hours childcare, sign in to pay into your account, reconfirm your eligibility, update your details.

Is it okay to apply now even though I haven’t started the job just yet.

I'm not sure to be honest. Might be worth signing up/signing in and it'll probably tell you. I can't remeber the exact wording of the questions.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

I just applied and haven't started yet. They ask if you're going to be starting work in the next 30/31 days, so just say yes to that.

It'll be tight to get the codes in time, apparently, but hopefully we should get them before term starts.
