Should I be helping more because I WFH?

My partner is a teacher and is off during the holidays. It has been unfortunate that both my children have had chicken pox which has limited his days free as they cannot attend the 3 usual days of childcare.
Whilst my partner knows my work can be quiet at times, he has assumed and expected that I will pick up times to watch the children so he can do the nursery run or nip out then claims it is my fault for not telling him that I have a call so will not be free for an hour then I can help.
He has also planned a day away tomorrow with friends which is normally a nursery day but child looks to still be unable to attend nursery and when I asked what his alternative childcare was (MIL), he has again assumed I will do it.
If the kids are ill and we are both working, I will try to do work with on of them at home to limit annual leave. When our mother in law who takes them 2 days a week makes plans, I use annual leave to cover these days because as a teacher, he doesn't have that flexibility in holidays
Should I be picked up more during work hours because I have quiet periods?

I’m a teacher and I do all childcare in the holidays apart from one day where I went into work which I arranged with dh in advance (I took her in for 2 others and booked her onto a camp for a third). If dd was ill, I’d cancel my plans. However during term time if dd is ill my dh looks after her as he is self employed.

No you shouldn't be working and doing childcare. Tell him clearly these hours are working hours and you cannot and will not put your job in jeopardy by looking after kids. He needs to look after them or arrange cover with someone who is not working.
