Would you leave?

This has been playing on my mind for a long while now and I could do with impartial opinions.
I work for a medium but nationwide company and have been there for almost a decade.
I am based in the head office and it is very demanding, often stressful, workload large, at times unmanageable, but I stayed because the people were lovely and they are flexible around my kids and pay reasonably well.
Recently though, a lot of my colleagues who have been longer serving have been leaving. There's just a handful of us left who have worked there longer than 2 years and turnover of staff is high.
I am well aware of the problems causing people to leave but because of who my manager is I am quite sheltered from the majority.
I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with how other staff members are being treated to the point I am seriously considering finding something else myself. They treat me well but it's down to moral compass, I don't think I want to work for a company like that.
Would you stay because, selfishly, you're still alright or would you cut and run?

Honestly i had a similar issue a few months ago. Luckily things improved, and my company has gotten better but for a while, I was one foot out the door.

What ultimately stopped me, however selfish it sounds, is that I was quite “protected” from a lot of the issues due to a variety of reasons (my high performance on a difficult client account for one, friendships within the business being another). As well as that, with the cost of living, I was afraid to go into a new job because if all went under, it’s “last in, first out”, whereas my job was stable with my current company.

But when I really didn’t know what to do, I decided to give it one more month. Had things not changed, I’d have handed in my notice after that one month.

So I don’t know what others might say, but I selfishly chose to stay despite others not enjoying the company anymore. Unfortunately, it’s everyone out for themselves, especially in corporate world, and those I was so empathetic towards wouldn’t have cared if it was me in their place

I think in your position I would keep an eye on job openings but not go all in job seeking. Totally get where you're coming from.

Depends if a better offer was on the table. I would definitely keep my eyes open for a new opportunity and the issues you describe would be part of my decision making process.

Agree with pp - it depends what else is out there. I wouldn't leave in solidarity with my colleagues unless I found something better to go to.
