Hi,

I have recently applied for dwp work coach and got a pre recorded interview invite. Has anyone done that? What sort of questions do I look out for?
also is anyone working for them how’s their situation with hybrid working. I have a 3 year old who I need to pick and drop to daycare etc.

@AlRRRR curious as to why you want to switch careers from social work as that's what I'd love to do!?

AlRRRR · 05/08/2023 20:02

@Bratzoverbarbie I stopped practicing yeaaaars ago, 38 now, suppose I didn’t really give it a good enough go! Are you going to Uni to study?

No plans! I've got a good, steady job and hoping to buy a house at some point. 2 young children i need to consider (isn't that what this post is about!) So I'm more than happy where I am for now. Its definitely something I'd consider aiming towards in the future. Kids first though ey!

AlRRRR · 05/08/2023 20:16

@Bratzoverbarbie yes i’m trying to juggle this too, single mum :)

since I’ve been searching for jobs and thinking about how I can handle childcare outside of nursery hours, I realise that there are no Nannies whatsoever in my area that can cover last-minute ad hoc an illness cover. I’ve started looking into it and I’ve registered with all the appropriate things so I’m actually thinking of just doing that.!

already have a few enquiries 🤣🤣🤣

I'm on week 4 now of waiting for pre employment checks. Does anyone know how long these usually take?

Aliza0886 · 18/11/2023 10:29

Hi any advice on the pre recorded interview please.planning on completing it tomorrow night which is my deadline.
much appreciated
thanks

Shodi2409 · 18/11/2023 13:02

@dancemom Hi I got the job in July. But my pre employment checks only started in September, they have only now just finished my pre-employment checks(Friday past) but I feel like they didn’t start to do it because they had me fill out the form again starting of November. I’m now waiting to hear back from my line manager to agree a start date. But reading this thread for some people it seems like their one was done quicker.
@Aliza0886 Unfortunately I wouldn’t know as my interview was done over Zoom.

Sandalholidays12 · 18/11/2023 13:06

@Nochoiceleft you've managed to bag pretty flexible hours which is like gold dust in a lot of fields. I do similar and count myself lucky!

Aliza0886 · 18/11/2023 19:53

iv been researching the dwp questions but one question
“Tell me a time when you have improved customer service by identifying and mitigating risk.
i cannot think of an example. Any ideas please??
thankyou

Shodi2409 · 18/11/2023 23:52

@Aliza0886 dont know an answer for that but the screenshot I sent u just turn them into questions - for example : tell me a time when you used Microsoft package. Those were my questions. Also I remember a question like. If you have 2 time sensitive task how would you manage them. Something like that.

dancemom · 21/11/2023 16:29

Just got an email to say my pre employment checks have been successfully completed 🙌🏼

Shodi2409 · 01/12/2023 17:04

@dancemom Hi, just wanted to ask if you’ve already been contacted by your line manager on when you’ll start? I’ve been waiting and no one has contacted me yet.

dancemom · 01/12/2023 18:21

Yes I got contacted to discuss a suitable training date after about a week and then about a week later I got my contract through

Fshion · 13/06/2024 12:34

Nochoiceleft · 05/08/2023 12:38

I work from 8.30 to 2.30 on a part time contract. I work flexi but my diary is open and usually fully booked from 9 to 2 with half an hour for lunch and no other breaks. I have a meeting and admin time outside of this. Not much chance of flexibility.

which role is it?I want to apply because of my disc I want to work part time
is it executive officer?
thanks for your answer

Elly17 · 08/07/2024 10:34

Did anyone on this post get through to work as a s work coach? I applied last year and they just got back to me now… I’m wondering how realistic the flexible/part-time or term time working is? I have a 4 and 7 year old, and do most of the school run, the location I was offered is a bit further to drive than expected. Any in job information would be great 😊

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/12/2024 09:59

There's roles like this near me but just wondering if j could manage it. How exhausting is it?

If you are doing drop off and pick up - what hours could you work? Part time?

Hey! I didn’t actually get this job I guess it works for the best. I now have a work from home job so everything is manageable 😊

Ooh what did you get instead? They're recruiting near me but I think I want some flexibility

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 11/12/2024 08:30

Wow. Well done OP. I completely went to pieces in my pre recorded interview when I tried for a civil service job during covid. I done OK up until then.

I got into a private company as a legal assistant! They are super flexible so really helps with picking and dropping my son.

Thank you! I got into a private company, civil services are not that flexible tbh but I guess it depends on the role, the work coach is pretty much in the office role
