Sick pay - how are months counted? Esp. in local government?

Does anyone know how two months would be 'counted' in relation to local government sick pay? For example, is it calendar months (say 5th July-4th September), or is it counted as eight weeks? Or 8.5 weeks?

Just looking online and it seems some places count a month as 22 working days, is this standard?

@vallee only your employer can tell you this. Either way the difference is going to be a couple of days at most.

It is usually one of:

  • calendar months I.e. 28, 30 or 31 days depending on the month so 25th Feb to 24th June = 4 months
  • 30 days a month for the first 2 months then 31 days and repeat so 3 months is 91 days
  • Working days is different again you can use actual (20, 21, 22 or 23 days) or average 22 days
