Occupational health referral and teaching

I posted over in the teaching staffroom but no replies so I thought I would try here as well.

I have long covid, I got covid the first time in March 2020 (well no tests then but very ill with covid symptoms) the illest I have ever been. Less to PE about 4 months later which thankfully cleared with blood thinners. I had fatigue and breathlessness following that but was getting better then caught covid again June 2022 which set everything back.

School was aware from Jan 21, I tried to keep everything going (too much pride and thinking I was superwoman) but did have to let them know it was getting to me.

I was referred to OH in March - apparently I needed to ask for a referral, which I didn’t know about so hadn’t. The appointment has only just come through for a couple of weeks time.

I don’t really know what to expect so wondered if anyone has had an occupational health assessment for teaching and how it went? Do I need to provide solutions and if so what solutions are reasonable?

I really don’t know where to start and feel a fraud and that I am letting my colleagues down.

Mine was difficult because I was off with stress. I had asked for a couple of minor adjustments which OH agreed were reasonable and I wasn’t asking too much however she said she couldn’t make the school do anything. Despite covering the whole LA she said she only saw teaching staff from two different schools and she saw them lots. She was very happy for me when I said I was leaving teaching.

I do wonder what the point of the assessment is if the employer can just ignore it! Did you go with ideas or where they good at proposing adjustments?
