So nervous about handing in notice tomorrow

So I had a job interview on Friday and that was their last day of interviewing and said they were going to choose that day and I was successful! I’m super excited about this new job. It’s much closer to home and it’s hybrid after 6 months.

the reason why I’m nervous is because I’ve been having issues with my manager and I was off on annual leave on the Monday for an appointment then I became unwell that evening with d&s and I had to take 2 days off as company policy. I was back in on the Thursday then back on annual as had the interview on Friday. I know how it’s going to look tomorrow when I had in my notice but I was genuinely very unwell. I literally feel so nervous to the point I feel sick to my stomach.

any tips??

I would be cautious and don't hand your notice in until you have your offer letter and signed contract with your starting date. If the new job doesn't materialise you will be in a difficult situation.

Sorry I forgot to mention I have received offer letter and start date on that same day

Great! Then stay factual and professional, write it in an email so that there is a paper trail. This is a useful article uk.indeed.com/career-advice/career-development/resign-from-job Good luck!

Honestly OP, just don't waste the head space on this. You're leaving. It doesn't matter what they think of you anymore.

This.

Why are you giving them any headspace. Really, what is the worst that could happen?

Hi @SN98 congratulations on your new job!
I totally understand the nerves. Just focus on that moment when you've handed in your notice and it's done, that feeling of relief, focus on that feeling.

Great news OP, how exciting. Write you resignation and give it to him as soon as you can. Do everything by the book, notice period - not more or less, any remaining days leave you need to take and clearly stating last day with company. It doesn't matter how it may look to him, it is what it is. You owe them nothing other than following the policy on the notice period
