26 weeks pregnant and offered new NHs job

Hi, I’m after some advice and guidance from those who have either been in a similar situation or have NHS HR background.

I interviewed this week and was offered the job, new NHS trust but I have worked within the NHS for 5+ years. I am 26 weeks pregnant and made the panel aware that I am starting ML in 10 weeks. My notice period is 8 weeks.

My questions are as follows:

  • Is it best to delay my start date until I return to work from ML, rather than starting for 2 weeks and then go on ML?
  • If I give my 8 weeks notice now, I will start within new trust at 34/35 weeks. What maternity pay will I be entitled to?

any advice or guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks 😊
