Hi everyone, I need a bit of help understanding a job interview I went too.
so I applied and got an interview for a health care assistant job. I have relevant experience and qualifications so I’m comfortable in the roll, my children are old enough for me to get back into work so I thought I’d ease myself in with a job I know and enjoy.
the interview went well, I answered all the questions and used my previous student nurse training which the lady was pleased I had. Come to the end she said
‘well, I’d be silly to pass up this opportunity to have you, and I don’t want to put you on the spot but do you want the job or do you need an evening to think about it’
i then said ‘yes definitely’
the other lady who was with us then said
“Have you got your documents” I said yes and she took me to the office where I gave my ID and the receptionist said they would send it off for a DBS check. The lady then said they would be in touch shortly.
i left and my brain really struggled to process the information (I struggle with processing information especially under stress) and I am left thinking did I get the job or am I waiting for them to offer it to me by phone.
my mum and partner said i have the job but because my brain really enjoys definitive yes or no answers i still feel a bit unsure. So im going to rely on the next best thing to settle me which is general consensus as I’d really like to start feeling excited or manage my disappointment sooner rather than later 😂😂
thanks in advance
