DWP flexibility

Hi,

My security checks for the Work Coach have been completed now, I am awaiting for further communication. The role is advertised for 37h, which I am happy with, but my question would be : are they willing to accept flexible working to work around my child's school hours for 2 days a week? I do panic a little bit as my child will start school from September and the school has no spaces for after club, therefore I was thinking to maybe be allowed to pick him up from school, then resume work later in the evening perhaps? And if so, do I ask for this when they first contact me? As I was reading a post on here and someone was saying she just accepted the job/ hours over the phone.

Thanks.

The only way to find out for certain is to ask DWP. You will have an HR contact through the recruitment process - email them and make a flexible working request.

Ask them asap!
Don't wait for them to contact you again.

Can you contact local childminders, if the after school clubs are full?

Definitely apply for a flexible working request.
