From teaching to social work

Hello
Been a primary school teacher for a while working in a high pupil premium school. I can feel myself getting more and more interested in working within safeguarding and thinking of doing the MA in children's social work.

However, everyone is trying to put me off. (Except my friend who is a social worker). She said yes it is challenging, yes it is intense and I understand that.

I am in my forties and don't know whether I should make the move. Any social workers out there who are positive? All I get is negativity. I suppose it is the same as teaching as most teachers would give all the negative parts of the job. Sometimes it is nice to hear the positives. I always give someone a balanced view of teaching for those who are thinking about it.

I'm a teacher with experience of sw. I wouldn't touch sw with a barge pole. There isn't anything I see appealing. It's all band Aid jobs rather than safeguarding.
