CV/Resume advice please?

I usually apply for jobs via an online form. I want to send a CV to a company that has not yet advertised a specific, professional role that I am after, but has asked for my cv to be sent in as an expression of interest.

Can someone give me any advice on where to start please? Is it ok to use a Word template? Or should I pay for a professional one?

Recruiters for specific professions often have free advice on their websites about expected CV layouts / contents for that profession. I would start there and prepare something in Word.

Hey, if you don't have a fancy template designed by a pro, no worries! Just use a Word template, it's totally fine. Focus on highlighting your relevant skills, experience, and achievements. Keep it concise and error-free.

Hiya,

I know you posted quite a while ago but in case you're still looking, I thought I would mention that I used a Word template when I was job hunting last year and it was great. I didn't really know where to start with making a CV and I tried a couple of online ones like Reume.io but they didn't really help much. I ended up buying a cheap template from paper and print shop on etsy for £4 or something and then I could just fill in the gaps myself.
