Change of hours

I’ve got an amazing opportunity to increase my hours. I do 2 8hr days in the work place but I’ve been offered more hours to work from home up to 16 hrs. I have after school childcare for the days I’m in the work place.

Both my children are at school.

I’m really not sure if I should do 2 days at 9-3 type of thing or another longer day 9-5.30pm and just nip out to do the school run.

What works best for you all work/home life? I’m liking the shorter days to be with the kids after school but I also feel like I could potentially only leave myself one free day for appointments/run errands. Or do I just do one longer day and have free days at home.

I know I am very lucky and have an amazing opportunity.

Thanks

Realistically would you actually work the full hours if you did 9-5:30? If you nip out at 3 to do the school run and then you’ve got the kids in the house wanting snacks etc it might be hard to concentrate or you might have to catch up on the missed hours in the evening.

I’d do 2 days of less hours so I can fully focus on my work without disruption and have the evenings focused on my children

I did 3 full days and then when youngest DC went to school I changed to school 4 days finishing at 2.45 which was great.
I'd do the 2 days of shorter hours so your work is done and dusted and you can forget about it when you pick up the children.
