Worth staying at job with unfriendly vibe

I really like my work, it's something that's a bit niche but my colleagues are really unfriendly and I just don't fit in. I'm quite introverted but make an effort to chat to people but it's just hard work.

I have been there coming up for a year and wondering if it's worth just keeping my head down and getting on with it or looking elsewhere. It just gets me down that people don't seem to want to mix and I'm not a weirdy freak lol

Can you change department?

my bitchboss doesn't say 2 words to me unless management are buzzing around - waiting patiently for internal roles to be advertised so I can apply.

No I can't move unfortunately. Why can't managers be a little more human. 😕

I'd leave. I spent 5 years in a company where people barely said hello to each other, then sat in silence all day. I stayed for the money and flexibility.

I left, and have worked in friendly companies ever since (which turned out to be just as flexible and well paid so I hung on for the 5 years for no reason!). It has made a big difference to my happiness.

I'm a bit the opposite

I've not been enjoying my job recently, mainly due to pressure and a few customers but my colleagues have helped get me through the hard days

It's a jokey, almost family like environment and sometimes I look around and think I couldn't leave them

People that you get on with is v important. My previous job had a very toxic atmosphere and I was there nearly seven years. I'd wanted to leave for over five years but just couldn't find anything to match the benefits

Eventually I had to leave (redundancy). I'd look for a new job, you must feel uncomfortable in this environment

i do feel uncomfortable and a bit awkward. i have been there nearly a year so i've given it some time, i will see what else is out there. thank you all.
