So my partner works Monday-Friday 4pm until 2am and gets paid normally every Thursday until today he's been waiting to get paid and his wages have not gone in so he's messaged his agency because all the people in his work haven't been paid either and they said it will go in the bank tomorrow now he's sent me a text saying if he's not been paid by his break which would of been at 8:30pm then he's walking out along with some other workers now is this allowed I think it's abit dramatic just wait another day I think he should stay in I don't want him risking losing his job as we have a 1 year old to fend for I'm just thinking the worst?

He would be really stupid to walk out. It sounds like an administration error.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 29/06/2023 20:45

That would be a really bad idea, even if he wasn't on agency books. But with an agency? They just won't give him shifts if they mark him as a troublemaker.

I work for a large government organisation and for whatever reason we didn't get paid in a Friday until the Monday. They covered any bank charges we incurred.

He's been stupid, especially when employed by an agency. Sounds administrative, they've probably already set up payments to hit accounts tomorrow therefore wouldn't be able to change if even if they cared he'd walked out.

He sounds like a hot head. Tell him to stay at work and he'll get paid tomorrow.
