I recently had to implement a performance management plan for an employee. It was very difficult to do and upsetting for all involved but ultimately the right thing.
Problem is prior to this she invited me to the evening part of her wedding. I can’t decide if I should or shouldn’t go! She has been very civil and chatty to me having recovered from the shock of the performance plan, but I can’t tell if she would actually now want me to be there. A friend said to me that my absence might be even more marked to her on balance and make things difficult in future.
Any thoughts?!
