Single parent working for a private day nursery and I am so annoyed at the company I have written my notice just deciding whether to take the plunge or not. There have been many things over the years but the company is really screwing me over with their benefits. I’ve been at the company 6 years now so I should have acquired 3 service days however my holiday entitlement is 12.5 days due to working Mondays ( day change due to the needs of the business). I have a 2 year old who attends the setting and she is entitled to the 2 year old funding. It was agreed with the manager these hours would be used on a Wednesday full day and Friday half day. She attends 3 days one of the days I don’t work. As part of the benefit package I get 50% off fees for the days I work (originally it was 50% off all sessions until July) however I have just found out that the funded hours are being used on a Monday full day and Wednesday half day and I am being charged full price for the Fridays so I’m effect I’m not benefiting from the employee discount. This is really going to screw me over money wise as I know have to find an extra £100 to pay these fees. I queried the funded hours and was told that they have to be used on the first day of the week my child is in. One of the reasons my child attends on a Friday is due to getting the funding to help her and her development. Am I over reacting or are am I being screwed over by the company. Also had to decline a bonus due to it affecting the little benefits I receive, I was offered nothing in return.
