Local Authority restructure - job match salary

Due to the departure of my previous line manager I'm currently acting up from my substantive Grade 8 post to 0.5 of a Grade 11 with my other G8 colleague covering the other 0.5 of the manager's role. The job share works really well for us both.

My Service is going through an Operational Review and it's been suggested our G8 posts are going to be re-graded as Grade 9s, with a new G11 recruited. My colleague is close to retirement and doesn't really want to be a FT G11 and I prefer the remit of my substantive post.

Does anyone know if, because we've been acting up as a G11, in the job matching process we'll be appointed to the salary scale at the top of G9, or if we have to drop back to the bottom?

We were both the top of G8 previously.

Obviously with CoL and mortgage rates etc, we'd prefer the top to the bottom but just looking for prior experience, HR folk or precedents. TIA

Each sector is different. In my sector you would need to apply for the G9 and if successful the normal promotion pay rules would apply. Either min of the G9 or 10%. The fact that you have been acting up to G11 is irrelevant.

I know in some sectors pay bands overlap but I would not expect you to go to top of G9 pay band.

You need to find the promotion pay rules.
