Which working pattern sounds the best?

DC due to start to school in September and trying to decide on working pattern. Currently work 32 hours over 4 days - 8 hours per day. But considering a few options!

Option 1: 4 days - but doing 2 long days (10 hours) and 2 short days in school hours.

Option 2: 5 days - 2 8 hour days, 3 shorter days between 5-5.5 hours.

Currently working hybrid so in the office 2 days a week-ish.

Is it better to work less days but for longer? I do have ADHD so focus is sometimes an issue and I get burnt out quite easily!

Option 1. You can have 1 day a week whilst they're in school to chill out and during holidays, it's one less day to arrange childcare.

Option 1.
You only need to cover 4 days in the school holidays.

Option 1.

I would generally say option 1, but given what you’ve said about focus and getting burnt out, I do think you’ll struggle with the 10 hour days

Don't forget school is shut 14 weeks a year including training days the more you cover the better....if you use a wrap around childminder they will be more likely to cover school holidays.
