Advice on CS job offer please 🙏

When I was applying for a CS job I have selected part time & flexi working option.But yesterday I have received a call from the employer offering me s full time job without hybrid working. Is this normal? I can’t commit to s full time hours with 2 preschool kids and full time working husband. Please any advice greatly appreciate 🙏

Not sure if you've resolved this yet but I worked in recruitment in the civil service.

Jobs have to be advertised with PT and FW options to be inclusive, unless extremely strong justification can be provided. Recruiting line managers however can make up their own rules on why your working pattern doesn't meet the business needs if they want to. It's so frustrating! I would email back and ask what part time/flexible working options they can work towards, in line with the adverts specifying this is an option. Although, from experience, these people can be known to make things difficult once you're in post ... Do you want to work for someone who can work with you to agree a working pattern already?

People are recruited with a promise of part time or whatever but local managers will genuinely struggle to make that actually work.
