Hey, I have a job interview and was wondering if anyone had any tips? Or things I should know about being a medical receptionist.

Thanks in advance xx

Hey @Aqua20 good luck with your interview. I would say data protection and confidentiality, how to handle a difficult patient who perhaps feels their needs are priority, escalating any concerns you're not sure about, if it's administration related maybe to your senior or GP (assuming it's a GP surgery) if its medical. Prioritisation, organisation, phone skills, team work, working under pressure..how do you cope, health and safety so making sure the reception area is safe and report any faults.

I'll let you know if I think of any others 😉

@Mumtofour1 thank you, I now realise my post is very basic, iv work with customers all my life so iv covered that side of things, I was thinking more about the other things that patience, may not necessarily see from the other side.

Do receptionists always become unwell working with the public? (Iv had major surgery in the past and am immunosurpressed)
