Feedback from interview unprofessional

Hi

I have just finished a 3 round interview process for an internal promotion .. each stage went really well however after doing some digging I was never expecting to get this job as it looked like it was someone else’s secondment and the role was just put out to tick boxes as it was becoming permanent. The last stage was just two candidates me and her( person already in role)

anyway at the final stage interview I was asked if I would consider another role ( I would love that role) and they seemed to make the interview about that other role as oppose to the role I actually applied for which I found strange but was feeling positive

I was told we would be told last Friday what the outcome was

fast forward to today and I still haven’t heard anything No phone call nothing .. but have been sent a meeting invite for TWO WEEKS time !! Titled ‘interview feedback’ by the group director who interviewed me

is it me or is this just so unprofessional!! I went for 3 rounds of interviews and have not even received a phone call to say 1. If I’ve been successful or not which I highly doubt not as like I said I think the job was ring fenced and 2. If I haven’t what is going on with the other role mentioned?

does anyone know what this could be about/mean ?

It's not always the case that feedback means you didn't get the job - it can quite literally mean the answer to whether you got the job - as dd found out recently.
Good luck - hope you are successful.

I do a lot of interviewing and recruiting and yes I think this is really unprofessional. I fail to believe they don't have a few minutes to give you a call prior to tell you whether you got the job or not. Instead they are leaving you worrying. Hopefully it's good news.

It’s defo not good news as I know the person who got the role and they have been told. Really do not understand why they cannot pick up the phone and tell me and have sent me a feedback meeting for two weeks time!

Ahh that is awful. I had this with the open university, they sent me an email a few days after interview with just one line, telling me how to request feedback. I replied saying umm I assume this means I was unsuccessful and they replied one word 'yes'. I will never apply again after that! Sorry this happened to you!

@FUPAgirl God that is so bad! Especially just saying yes aswell and nothing else. I don’t think some places appreciate the hard work that goes in to these things and the effort and that all it takes is a basic phone call to explain. I have actually emailed him to say the same as that basically I assume I’ve been unsuccessful but haven’t had a response yet

I haven’t even received a response to my email asking if I have been unsuccessful ! I mean how bloody rude
