Interviews- can I moan here before I contact them directly

I won’t, but I need to vent!
I applied for a job, weeks ago, and straight away got an email. Only it was clearly an internal email sent in error to me.

It- ‘Yes I agree about this one. Worth an interview. Let’s get her thoughts on it’

About an hour later I got another email, a formal auto ‘xxxx wants to recall the email’ one. No personalised note, obviously as an external email it couldn’t be recalled.

Then…. They didn’t shortlist me!

Are you sure the email was talking about you, in addition to being sent to you?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 15/06/2023 13:24

I wouldn't bother. Someone sent an email in error then had second thoughts about you for some reason.

Quveas · 15/06/2023 13:51

What are you planning to contact them about?

Yes, it referenced by email address, re: me, I edited out my name

I’m not, I’m moaning here to stop myself. It’s pointless. It just felt it was handled badly

Or didn’t want to own up to their error.. in the same situation I’d have sent a polite one line email apologising. (It wasn’t HR, but the line manager of a tiny team)
