I applied for a job and received an offer.

I've just noticed for my most recent job I stated I started work in January when it was actually mid February. It was a short term contract and an honest mistake.

Will my job offer get rescinded? I'm really worried. They haven't done referees yet and I have no details of whom the hiring manager is yet so I can't talk to them.

Feeling like a prize bollock.

I know that processes are strict in the public sector. I'm hoping the hiring manager may ignore it as applicants are only asked for MMYY not DDMMYY

Can’t see this being an issue at all. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the reassurance! Do you think I ought to tell them? Or just leave it be?

Mine were wrong by a year once. I really think you're worrying about nothing.

Don't mention it at all

Thanks everyone! I assumed that public sector were more stringent and I obviously overthought the whole thing 😊
